The game

Gravel & Gas is a Road Rash-style motorbike race: you speed down open roads full of bends, traffic and roadworks, trading punches and kicks with the other riders on the way to the finish.

Every race has one rider from each of the eight biker groups, and every road belongs to a gang whose leader rides as the boss: faster, tougher, and swinging a chain.

Everything is made in code: the pixel-art sprites, the caricature faces in the menu, the sound effects and even the music, one song for each road.

5 roads: Dusty Creek, Ironport, Bone Dry Highway, Pinewood Run and Coral Coast
8 gangs, each with its own look and style, and a boss on every road
Police lying in wait, two-way traffic, oil, potholes and roadworks
Three different kinds of crash, and you always get back on the bike
A soundtrack synthesized in code: country, punk, western, grunge and surf rock

What's new in v0.2.0

Eight biker groups. Every race now has one rider from each group, and every map has a home group whose leader rides as the boss:

Chrome Reapers and Iron Hounds, the two rival gangs
Salt Dogs: beach bikers, no jackets, mirror shades, surfboards
Flower Platoon: hippie veterans with peace signs and flowers
High Rollers: casino bikers, rich, fat and gold-plated
Kage Clan: ninja bikers with covered faces
Turquoise Riders: inspired by Native North American riders
Monsoon Kings: from India, turbans and marigold garlands

New menu. A live, painted 3D scene of the group leaders as caricatures charging at you on their choppers at sunset, a spotlight introducing each group, a new logo and splash screen, and a loading screen with the home group's leader.

And more: a new beach map (Coral Coast) with surfers and beach balls crossing the road, three different crash animations, flying traffic cones, a speedometer, more detailed bikes and jackets, and much faster loading.
